Ariel Brooks-Stevens
Broker/Owner
Ariel Brooks-Stevens was born into a military family, affording her the opportunity to live across the US and Europe. She attended college at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington as well as CESEM Euromed; a business university in Marseille, France. She earned business degrees from both universities with a concentration in finance.
After graduating from college, Ariel chose to remain in France and began working in the corporate offices of the European Hub of Fedex in Paris. She loved being a project manager and loved living in Paris but felt it was time to head back to the States in the summer of 2003. Little did she know that her decision was perfect timing and, that same summer, she met her husband while visiting family and hasn’t left Boerne since.
She worked for a consulting firm for many years before her neighbor mentioned how much her skills and personality suited the Real Estate industry and she jumped at the chance to try something new. Ariel grew as an agent and in 2021, Ariel, along with two partners started Hill Country Home and Land. Their desire to serve clients and the community has helped make the brokerage a huge success. At the beginning of 2024, Ariel took over as owner and Broker and is excited for what the future holds.
Ariel and her husband, Mark, have three boys; Hudson, Garrett and Nolan.
Mike Schultz
REALTOR
Mike Schultz was born and raised in Fairmont, Minnesota, attended Bemidgi State University and received a business degree from The University of Minnesota. Most of his professional career has been in the financial services industry. He and his family moved to Boerne in 1993 from San Antonio where they had lived since 1976.
Early in his public service career, Mike served on a number of YMCA committees and was President of the San Antonio YMCA (1992-1993) which encompassed all 13 branches. He served on many church committees which led to three different master planning and building projects accounting for millions of dollars of construction. He served 5 years on the Boerne Independent School District Board with 2 terms as President and 2 years as a member of the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB).
Mike is co-founder of LeaderSteps, a program for Boerne ISD seniors which is still in existence today. He served as a board member of the Christian Job Corp of Kendall County and as Chairman of the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce Board. Governor Rick Perry appointed him to serve on the Guadalupe Blanco River Authority (GBRA) Board of Directors from 2000-2003.
Mike continued his volunteer public service as Mayor of Boerne, being elected in May of 2011 and holding 4 terms ending in May of 2019. Mike served as a valued member of the Sonora Bank executive leadership team. He was the Executive Vice President of First Sonora Bancshares and the Chief Operating Officer(COO) ofSonora Bank. Mike retired from Sonora Bank in March of 2020 and has since served as a consultant to Sonora Bank since April 2020.
Mike became a licensed realtor/broker in Colorado in 2003. When he and his wife Carol returned to Boerne in 2007, he obtained his Texas real estate license and after his retirement from Sonora Bank, they formed Hill Country Home and Land LLC in 2021. Mike and Carol have 3 children. Mitch lives in Austin working in the film industry, Matt was in the real estate business and passed in 2011 and Meghan is a veterinarian living in Boerne with husband Jason and grandchildren, Mattelyn and Hunter.
Bettina R Tolin

Raised in a military family, Bettina has lived around the world. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Hollins University, Roanoke, Virginia. She is a graduate of the Darden School of Executive Management at the University of Virginia. She holds a culinary degree from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Austin, Texas.
She has been a proud member of Rotary International since 2008. She has served on numerous volunteer boards, including the South Padre Island Chamber of Commerce, the Laguna Madre Boys & Girls Club, and the Board of Keep Texas Beautiful. Bettina is an animal lover and adores her family of rescue dogs and cats.
